Rev. and Mrs. H. P. Schuurmans came to Bethel Reformed from the Reformed Church, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
He was a very talented man, good sermons, and a good musician. He excelled in athletics, high jump and foot races.
He and his wife had three children. They were Peter, Ed, and Hattie.
