Rev. H. J. Pietenpol (1895-1902)
Rev. Pietenpol was the first established minister of the Bethel Reformed church. Salary was $700. $500 paid by the Board of Domestic Missions and $200 by the congregation; included three weeks of vacation. The parsonage was not completed so he lived for 6 months in the rooms of the J.S. Menning home.(Ivan Schelhaas's home) From 1895 to 1902 the congregation grew to 71 families, 140 communicant members, 93 catechism members, 141 Sunday School members. In 1902 the church took full support of the pastor's salary.
